A new season begins at Abrahams…
The Summer season for us up here in Kirkby Lonsdale has been long and worthwhile. Being situated at the crossroads between Lancashire to the south, Yorkshire to the east and Cumbria to the west, means our pretty market town is always a popular stopping point for travellers. “Staycation Summer 2: The tourists return” has kept us and other businesses in the town occupied and happy. So much so, that we almost didn’t realise that Summer had officially gone.
Well there are three things that gave it away. Firstly, the families have gone to be replaced by older visitors who always time their visit once the schools are back. Secondly, you can feel the change in the climate. The sun is still shining enough to give some reassuring warmth but there’s that slight chill in the evening – a warning of things to come. And thirdly? Well of course we are a fashion and lifestyle business and being seasonal, new stock is arriving daily to remind us of the design choices we made half a year ago for Autumn Winter. This year it feels like those choices were made a lifetime ago.
Fashion is the keystone of our business and we continue to select brands that reflect our ideals of better quality materials that will last longer and fantastic design that we hope will become key pieces in your wardrobe for years to come. So, now that Autumn is officially here, I thought I could reveal some of the new womenswear that has made it to Abrahams. Some of the items shown below have arrived and some are on their way:
Ever dependable Barbour & Barbour International continue to produce fabulous knits, cosy jackets & beautiful long wax coats. We’re also stocking Barbour’s loungewear this season which are a perfect treat for yourself but equally make stylish gifts.

As ever from Vilagallo, Autumn styles include quirky colourful prints & knitwear that celebrate classic design with a dynamic twist.

Despite the name, Oui is actually a German brand that has worked really well for us because they offer timeless classics. This season we’ve selected elegant coats & luxuriously soft layering pieces.

French brand Saint James continue to refine the classic look of Breton stripes and for this season we have included their iconic navy Peacoat.

NEW this season, we are thrilled to introduce MISS JUNE – this Paris based brand creates stunning bohemian-chic collections using unique embellished fabrics which are sure to add glamour to your wardrobe!

We are extremely excited with the new seasons ranges. We love to hear what our customers think of our selections once they’ve made it to the shop-floor. However the bad news is that like a lot of business right now, we are experiencing difficulties in getting all our new styles in and unfortunately, will be missing some sizes due to the ongoing problems caused by both COVID and Brexit. Does it matter? Well on the grand scheme of things of course not.
It’s been a hard couple of years in more ways than one and it is frustrating that all of the hard work that goes into selecting and buying is at the mercy of events that are out of our control. However, I can assure visitors to the store that they will be delighted by what we have on display. With that in mind, we advise that you do not wait too long before visiting the store to avoid disappointment.
