Although it has been a terribly difficult year for all of us, we wanted to celebrate this Christmas as we always have at Abrahams – with great style & fun!
We have all had to get used to doing things differently since Covid-19 emerged earlier this year especially our having to wear facemasks. Everyone hates them but realises that they are essential now. With that in mind we thought we would incorporate masks into our Christmas displays this year…
We came up with a theatrical theme using the ‘Masks of Tragedy & Comedy’ – Melpomene (the Ancient Greek Muse of Tragedy) & Thalia (the Muse of Comedy). After much thought, we decided to go big & bold with a theatre stage effect using a great many metres of swagged red velvet to represent a curtained stage. We added gold leaves, dramatic tiebacks & finished off with the above-mentioned gold painted masks. JAC & I spent many happy hours perfecting the finished design & we have to say, we were rather pleased with the outcome & hope you like it too!
Since reopening our doors on 2nd December after the November lockdown, we have been thrilled to see so many of you returning to the store. We have been touched by all your kind comments about both the look of the store this Christmas & our selection of unusual & unique ranges.
Your continuing support (both in the store & from our online shop) has been greatly appreciated, especially this year.
JAC & I would like to wish you all an incredibly Happy Christmas & the absolute best for 2021.
