We would like to wish everyone a Happy New Year, albeit a rather subdued & exceedingly cold one! Sadly, being a ‘non-essential’ store we have been forced to close our doors once again without any knowledge of when we can reopen.
January is an interesting month. Named after the Roman god Janus, he is usually depicted as having two faces as he looks to the future as well as the past. As we reflect over the difficulties of the last twelve months, we take comfort in knowing that ‘The Show Must Go On’…
Usually this time of the year for me is spent dashing around the country to preview and buy our Autumn/Winter collections. However with so many unknowns, a lot of those decisions are being put on hold.
With that in mind, we are beavering away behind the scenes. The online shop is constantly being updated with more products being added as quickly as we can. We have just increased our range of Diana Wilson Arcana greetings cards, including the timely inclusion of some very special Valentine’s Day designs.
We will also be offering an extended range of products from some of our most popular brands. Whilst we are in another lockdown, our vintage design postcards from Swedish gift brand SkönaTing, are a wonderful way to say “Thank You” after Christmas.
The various lockdowns have been responsible for some impressive (and not so impressive) facial hair growth. Perhaps with Valentine’s Day fast approaching, our grooming shop featuring Captain Fawcett is the perfect stop for great gifts that will help nourish beards and tame unruly moustaches.
All though the Christmas decorations are down, I’m doing my best to recall those lovely cosy nights by lighting candles and using lots of fragrance around the home, including lovely diffusers from Ortigia.
Scent can reduce stress, influence our mood and state of wellbeing, so a spot of pampering is very important to help you feel good during these uncertain times – spray one of Carthusia’s exotic fragrances to help banish the winter blues and make you look forward to sunnier days to come.
We’ll add more of these goodies from Europe – well, once we have got to grips with the complexities of the new import rules!
