A Love Affair With India
Abrahams has been stocking handmade products from India for several years now. We began our Indian ‘love affair’ with a range of colourful embroidered tote bags from Jaipur which sold out in record time! Sadly, we were unable to get anymore when our supplier stopped importing them. However, after numerous customer requests and many months of searching Josie has managed to track down some more. Perfect as either a shopper or weekender, these eye-catching bags offer an incredible amount of space, have an internal pocket and zipper across the top. We have both muted or bright versions priced at either £80 or £90.
We are now working directly with a fabulous manufacturer of Indian textile products in Jodhpur, The Blue City. Our growing relationship began with a request for vintage & new Kantha quilts as well silk jacquard scarves.
More recent orders have included a selection of bespoke Suzani embroidered robes, individually hand-picked by Josie and made to her design. Each one is created from a single Suzani fabric length. Priced at £150, they represent excellent value for a unique item!
This season we have expanded our range of Indian print accessories and gifts. Our current selection includes many sizes of wash bags, totes and weekend bags using traditional cotton fabrics.
By collaborating directly with artisans, we are now able to offer beautiful products which are not only unique to us but also offered at a price which is less than many of our competitors.
JAC & Josie are working towards visiting India in the not too distant future not only to experience the vibrant colour and culture of this amazing country but also to source many more exciting and unusual items to tempt you!
