Lets not waste time thingking about the waistline implications. The truth is that chocolate is good for you and your brain. A good quality cholcolate has high levels of cocoa solids as there is less need for added sugar. For decades, dark chocolate as been regarded as by far the healthiest type of chocolate to eat. A mere 100g of milk chocolate lowers the chance of death from heart disease by a phenominal 25 per cent. Further, there is a 23% reduction of the risk of stroke too ! OK so overdoing in the long term is bad for your waistline and heart, the news that it is not all bad is, well, heartening.
Edward Lane, writing for Mens Health magazine says “Admittedly, we can’t promise it will do much for your weightloss goals; neither are we suggesting that Kit Kats are the new kale. But there is at least some virtue to be found in an Easter Monday chocolate coma.”
