Can I be of service?

If you’ve visited Abrahams Store in Kirkby Lonsdale and ever wondered who was that rather nice person who served you, then our latest blog post is just for you. After taking over Abrahams a few years ago we’ve gradually built a reputation for exciting designs and great service. I’ve talked about the ‘behind the scenes’ buying process before, but I think it’s about time we introduced some of the wonderful team that gets to meet customers and help them during their visits.

“I took early retirement from Queen Elizabeth School, Kirkby Lonsdale in July 2021 and was delighted when Josie contacted me to ask if I would like to join the Abrahams team on a part-time basis.

Despite not having any previous experience in retail, I am loving my new role immensely. I enjoy meeting and talking to our lovely customers, helping them with personal shopping or choosing gifts for that special occasion. Abrahams is renowned for its colour, style and vibrancy which our customers particularly enjoy. I love being part of this small family team which offers a unique shopping experience”.

Andrea

“Throughout my career, I have always worked in interior design and fashion. I started working at Abraham’s store 5 years ago and love being a member of our small friendly team.

The favourite part of my job is being able to spend time with our customers helping them choose a special gift or an outfit for any occasion. Over the time I have worked for Josie & JAC, I have got to know our loyal customers and look forward to welcoming and giving our new customers an enjoyable and personal shopping experience”.

Francesca

“As long as I can remember, I have been interested in design and expression and this fundamental attitude has stayed with me. I was 16 when I first started working weekends for my parents at Abrahams. I left in 2018 to pursue a Degree in Textile Design at Leeds Art University. Whilst there, I worked at Charbonnel et Walker, the renowned chocolate shop. However, due to the 2020 lockdowns, I returned home.

Like all small independent businesses, we were forced to close. Although a hugely difficult time for us all not being able to open the shop, I saw this as an opportunity to help and support my family’s business in any way I could, while also continuing my studies. Since graduating in 2021, I decided to stay home and continue to work for Abrahams. Being in such a special and beautiful part of the county, I care about ‘Kirkby’ and its High Street.

Our team is great and a joy to work with. I have also learnt a great deal working beside my parents and seeing how the business is run. Working and shopping in a fun and wonderful environment, I love the time spent in the shop”.

All of the Abrahams team have been busy stocking the store with new autumn winter collections, plus gift ideas for the festive season, however if you do come to Kirkby Lonsdale, please do pop in and say hello.

Best wishes
Josie, JAC & the Abrahams team XX
