A little bit of history….
Did you know that the first soap was made in ancient Mesopotamia; in the cradle of civilization ? The geography of the “fertile crescent” allowed more food to be grown than was needed to feed those cultivating it. So non-farmers undertook other work, someone will have boilled down animal fats and mixed in alkalis from wood ash to create the first soap. However it wasn’t used for washing people, it was use to clean fabric. Even the Greeks and Romans eschewed the use of soap on thier bodies. They used Olive oil suffused with fragrances, which is actually pretty much the same as these fantastic Ortigia soaps.
